“How Do I Really Succeed In Life?”
The simple version would be to “Follow God’s plan” for your life. Yes that may sound over simplistic, but it is NOT. The truth is everything else can really fall in behind this lead premise that God has a specific purpose and plan for your life.
The Bible tells us in Jeremiah chapter 29:11-13 For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare {GOOD} and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I
will listen to you and you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all of your heart and I will be found by you declares the Lord . That is exciting, Almighty God who created all that there is, Knows you and cares for you and has a plan
for your entire life ,amazing !
The Bible also describes how we are unique and each one of us has specific God given gifts and talents. So it would make sense to be successful and fulfilled in this life that we should pursue a career or vocation that utilizes those gifts and
talents, so you can enjoy what you are doing .
Much frustration comes from working a job or pursuing a career for which you have no natural aptitude or desire. On the other hand people who work in a field that is aligned with skills and talents that they are equipped for, and have a natural
ability to achieve will be much happier and more fulfilled.
So the first thing to do would be to take time and pray and seek God and ask Him what Is Your purpose and plan for my life. {this is not a once and done prayer, it is a process) Ask Him to make it very clear to you what are the gifts and
talents that He has placed within you. How do you want me to use them. God wants you to know His plan. He does not want you confused or unsure about any of it, and he is very pleased when we come and ask for his advice and direction.
Psalm 32:8 says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go, and I will counsel you with my eye upon you. What an amazing word from God .This can be applied to virtually every area of your life. Every word of God that you
apply to your life and sow into your heart will produce itself in your life . He will lead you in a straight and level path in a way in which you will not stumble.
Jeremiah 33:3 says Call to me and I will answer you and I will tell you great and mighty things which you do not know. There are many other verses in the Bible which clearly describes God’s desire to be with you and teach you the way you
should go. It is his desire for you to have understanding and direction in your life. He wants more than anything for you to fulfill the purpose and plan he has created you for .
Psalm 25:4 Make me to know your ways oh Lord teach me your paths .Lead me in your truth and teach me for you are the God of my salvation ,for you I wait all the day.
Pslam25:12 Who is the man who fears the Lord ? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
It is very clear that God wants you to know his purpose and plan for your life. So if we stay close to Him and seek Him ,He will reveal the path, the plan ,every bit of the way, one step at a time.
Everyone measures success somewhat differently. For some people its money, riches and fame; for others it’s family ,happiness and health. Maybe it is a combination of different things for different people. But God made all of us and he alone
knows what He created our lives to be. We must put our relationship with Jesus first. If this relationship is not first in the list of priorities in our lives nothing else will work properly. If we put him first though, joy ,fulfillment, peace ,happiness. health
and even prosperity will all follow. Matt. 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.
I have found from years of experience often the hard way, that if I put Him first He will take care of all the things that I have no control over and bless me beyond what I could ask Him for. He is a good God and He loves us more than we can know
and He is worthy to be loved and served and worship with all of our heart. Many Christians do not give God all of their heart. They won’t come to the Lord and say “Lord I am all in. I am fully committed to the purpose and plan that you have for my
life. They are afraid he will ask too much of them, but that is not true. Being “All in” with the Lord and fully committed to him is the safest place you can be and it is the place of blessing and the miraculous.
A parting thought: Put God First in every detail of your life, trust Him completely, be Diligent and Persistent to follow His plan; success will follow.
