“Pull The Weeds”

Our life may be viewed as a garden. The goal in growing a garden is for visual beauty or to produce fruit or vegetables. Either way to achieve the best results requires; 1. Good seed. 2. Good soil and  3. Water.

In order for each of us to be productive in the Kingdom of God it is imperative that we tend carefully to the garden of our heart and the garden of our life. It is important to realize that our lives are not random. God created each one of us and breathed into us the Spirit of Life which comes from Him. We each have a God designed Spirit. We also have a very detailed and God designed purpose and plan for our lives. Think about that, God has a plan for your life. So you see nothing about you is random you are God’s very unique and special creation, created for eternity !

In order to have a truly successful life and eternal future, we must find out what God’s plan for us is and walk it out. It’s not difficult. If we ask Him, He will show us. The Lord has already provided the spiritual gifts and talents we need to carry out His purpose and plan for our lives. What he requires of us is a willing and obedient heart.

Now, our enemy the devil who is god of this world does not want any of this good plan to happen. So he brings all kinds of obstacles and distractions to interfere. Our job is to trust the Lord and live by the word of God, which is the Bible. We have no need to be fearful in anyway about the devil’s schemes. Jesus has defeated him and destroyed his power over us. We must study the God’s word, proclaim God’s word, and walk in God’s word. In this way we will walk in victory over the devil and destroy his works in the earth.

So what does “Pull the weeds” mean? Well, the weeds are things that are not of God, that we have allowed to become part of who we are and how we think, speak, and behave. In order for each of us to be productive and fulfill God’s purpose and plan for our lives, we must diligently pull weeds, and water our garden with prayer.

Everyone has their own weeds. Yours may be similar to mine or someone else’s, but these are personal because it is your life, your garden, your walk with God. This is how we pull weeds. It starts with prayer. You just asked the Lord to reveal to you the weeds in your life. Ask, Lord what is not pleasing to you? Simple. He will show you each area. Ask also for specifics on how to pull the weeds in each area. He will show you. Usually by reading your Bible all the answers will come. Here are a few areas you will find the weeds.  Improper thinking; the worlds influence through TV, games, social media, and movies is constantly trying to shape the way we think and view ourselves and others; and not at all in a good way.     Improper speech; your words have the power to create in your life what you say. Most people are living a life set of circumstances that is exactly the fruit of what has come out of their mouth. Think about it.  Improper behavior; again the dark world we live in promotes all the wrong behavioral values. The Bible says we must renew our minds to the truth by reading the word of God. This will transform us and our behavior to be more like God intended us to be. The Bible says we are to esteem the needs of others as more important than our own. Not to live as though we are number one.

By studying the word of God and applying it to every area of our life, we will be transformed. Our thinking, speech, and actions will all change and align them selves with God’s wonderful creative word. The fruit of the Holy Spirit will grow and flourish in the garden of your heart as you “pull the weeds”. Left unchecked the weeds will flood throughout the garden of our lives choking out God’s amazing purpose and plan He created you to walk in.

But fear not, God is with you and hears your prayers. He loves when we come and ask for help to be more like him. Consider God’s word and apply it diligently to the garden of your life. It is not only a divine “weedkiller” but  amazing divine Seed, able to produce itself in every aspect of your life.
